Welcome to Reception! 🎉
Dear Parents and Carers,
A very warm welcome to our new Reception children and families. We are delighted to begin this exciting school journey together!
Please note that we have a fresh, blank Class Story and Student Portfolio space for the new school year. Your child's wonderful work from Roebuck Nursery has not been deleted. You can still view all their historical photos and posts by scrolling down your main parent feed.
Key Dates & Details:
• 📅 Tue 1st & Wed 2nd September: Individual family appointments to see the classroom.
• 🎒 Thu 3rd or Fri 4th September: Induction days. Children must wear full school uniform on their induction day.
• 🏫 Monday 7th September: Full-time attendance begins for all Reception children.
Daily Routine & Reminders:
• ⏰ School Times: Classroom doors open at 8:40 am for drop-off. Collection is at 3:10 pm.
• 🥪 Food: Children do not need a packed lunch or snack, as all food is provided.
• 🍎 School Snack (from Mon 7th Sept): The cost is £8 for the half term (or £1 per week). Please send cash in a named envelope.
• 💧 Water Bottles: Please send your child with a clearly named water bottle containing water only.
If you have misplaced any details regarding your appointment time or induction day, please contact the school office on Tuesday 1st September for assistance.

How can I help prepare my child for Primary School?

We will have been working closely with your child during their time with us, to help them become as 'school ready' as possible. ‘School readiness’ is a term used to describe how ready children are to start school in reception class.  Lancashire County Council has some really useful tips and ideas for parents, including a guide to support you with ideas, reduce any anxieties and feel confident that you have shared all the information that you wanted, to help the school begin to get to know the individual needs of your child.
