General Information

The Roebuck School officially opened its doors to a brand new sports and arts facility based on Parker Street - Preston in July 2004.

In a joint venture between Lancashire County Council, Sport England and The Roebuck School, a state of the art venue was built to house performances for sport and art for the school children and the local community.

To date, the venue is used regularly by the school for all Physical Education lessons, extra-curricular activities such as football, dance, athletics, table tennis etc. In addition to these activities, the building also provides a base for the 'Breakfast Club' and 'After School Club' which accommodate approximately 30 pupils every school day.

In the evenings, the local community use the facility to carry out a variety of sporting and artistic performances. The school is very keen for the local community to use the facility at evenings and weekends. If any organised groups are interested in using the venue then they can contact the school  during normal office hours on 01772 729337.

Contact the school office to find out more details.

The school is not aiming to make a profit from this venue and thus is able to offer a very competitive rate of hire for the sports hall or classroom. All revenue will feed back into the venue to cover costs for heating and general maintenance.

The hall is available for hire to educational groups during the week and user groups at weekends.

The sports hall allows for a wide variety of sporting activities to be undertaken. These may be small sided football training sessions, table tennis, badminton, aerobics, dance, short tennis, gymnastics and basketball to name just a few.

We also have a stage and lighting system for school productions.

The venue also boasts a large classroom with tables and chairs for use for general meetings, drama groups and music tuition for example. In addition to these facilties, the venue has a small communal kitchen area and male and female changing rooms with showers.

The Sports and Arts facility is based on the corner of Parker Street and Eldon Strret in Preston.  A small car park is available to accommodate 12 vehicles.
