Physical Education and Sports Premium

GOVERNMENT’S PE AND SPORT PREMIUM FUNDING

The Government’s PE and Sport premium funding has continued into the 2022-23 academic year.

Since 2013 the Government has provided additional funding to primary schools to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport. This funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – will be allocated to primary school head teachers.

The funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in school.

The Government have made it clear that schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer.

Our school has received funding to improve the provision of PE and sport in our school for 2022-2023.

Whilst we pride ourselves on being a very active and healthy school already, we welcome this additional funding to further develop the excellent practice that currently goes on in school.

An overview of how the money has/is being spent is outlined in the document below ‘Sports Funding 22-23’; this is a working document and will be updated throughout the school year (you can also see below how the PE and Sport premium was spent in previous years and how this has been evaluated by the PE leader and Senior leadership team).
