Headteacher's Message

A Message from the Headteacher
Hello, and welcome to the Roebuck School.

Thank you for visiting our website. We are delighted you wish to know more about the life of our very busy and exciting school.

The Roebuck Primary School is situated north of Preston, at the junction of Blackpool Road and Inkerman Street in Ashton. The school is popular and has served a wide catchment area since its opening in 1907.

We admit up to 45 pupils annually.

The Roebuck School has a purpose-built Sports Hall which is also used by the local  community. It provides a large space for the teaching and learning of physical education, for theatre and school productions, music and arts and is a place where children from school can access before and after school care.

We have a library and several areas in school where children can be taught in small groups.

There are a great many opportunities to develop sport  through the provision of a wide and varied programme of extra-curricular activities. As a school, we believe that children learn in many different ways, and as such we cater for all individuals.

We have strong links with other Primary Schools and High Schools in the area. These links enable us to access and share expertise in all curriculum areas.

Interested? Then please contact us to either request additional information or to make an appointment to visit us (Tel: 01772 729337 and ask to speak with the school's bursar). Our friendly and supportive staff will make you feel  welcome. It is important to us that, in making a decision about your child's school, you are confident that we can provide, in partnership with our parents, opportunities for children in our care to enjoy their learning, responsibilities and experiences that will prepare them for adult life.

We look forward to meeting you!

Mrs J Alexander-Steele
