For this half term, we will be looking at folktales.  We will read the folk take, ' The Lancashire Giant'

We will consolidate a lot of our reading skills whilst broadening our vocabulary and supporting our dictionary and thesaurus skills. We will look to produce our own high quality folktale which we hope to share with a different class.

We will be working on using fronted adverbials and using inverted commas to show speech!

The document in the files below shows the Year 4 expectations for Grammar. Please have a look at this and recap learning at home.

Spellings are a vital part of learning and will support children's development in writing.

In Beech Class, spelling homework is handed out at the beginning of each term. It is expected that your child practises 3 times within the week; they may use whatever method they prefer.

During school time we will work on methods to support the learning of spellings at least twice a week.

Children will be sent home with their spellings for the whole term. You can also download them here in the files section.

Your child should know what group they are in. If you are not sure, please send me a message on Class Dojo.
