Autumn 2 Week 5
Happy Friday everyone,
We have had another super week in school.
On Tuesday the classroom was decorated with lots of Christmas cheer and we opened our Santa's workshop. The elves have been wrapping presents for Santa and writing lists and present tags so the presents can be delivered to the correct people. The story we are looking at over the next few weeks in The Jolly Christmas Postman. We have looked at the letters the postman has delivered and written our own Santa letter to post next week.
In phonics we have finished Phase 2 sounds and we are practising blending and segmenting those sounds together. Some of the children are still finding this difficult so please work with them at home on this please. I will put a link on to help you. Please ask if you are unsure of anything.
In maths we have been finding different ways of making 5. The children have worked really hard with this and will continue to do lots of activties in the next few weeks to consolidate their learning.
We have read the Christmas story and found out why Mary and Joseeh had to go to Bethlehem and why Jesus was born in a stable. The children looked at who visited baby Jesus in the stable.
In ICT we have been taking photographs of each other, we looked at if the picture was blurry, if they had got the whole person on the photograph and hpw to hold the ipad safely. The children did extremely well.
We are looking forward to next week and our visit to the postbox to post our letters.
Have a lovely weekend
