Wider Curriculum

Computing – The topic this term is, ‘Networks’. Children will look at computer networks including the internet, and how they can provide multiple services for communication and collaboration.

Art – We will focus on painting using watercolours. The children will use the work of the artist Heaton Cooper as the stimulus for their own work and relate to it to their Geography topic on mountains.

Geography – Our geography topic is on mountains. Children will develop an understanding of different mountains around the UK and the rest of the world, as well as how they are formed and the different types of mountains.

Music – We will be listening to and appraising different types of music and reflecting on the skills learnt throughout the year in order to develop a further understanding.

PE – Birch Class will continue with swimming lessons and life-saving skills on a Tuesday for this half term. 

PSHE – PSHE this term will focus on relationships and how friends can communicate safely

R.E – Our RE will focus on Christianity, through the story of Easter. Children will discuss the question, “Why do Christians believe that Good Friday is good?"

Science – Our Science topic this term is forces. We will develop and deepen our understanding of areas such as gravity, air-resistance and water resistance.
