Summer 1:
This half term we are reading the story 'Nobot the robot with no bottom' by Sue Hendra. We will be identifying the characters within the story, making predictions about what will happen and sequencing the events. We will learn the parts of the story by oral retelling and will then plan our own new version before writing it. Throughout this half term we will continue to learn how to make our sentences longer and more descriptive by using words such as 'but' and 'when' and by adding adjectives and adverbs.
We will then move onto looking at the features of instructions before writing a set of instructions to grow a plant.
To help your child you can practise reading and writing the common exception words for Year 1 and 2.
